Anthony Edwards has been fined several times this season
Anthony Edwards' $50,000 fine for the obscene gesture committed during Saturday's game against the Grizzlies is not the first time he's been sanctioned. In fact, just this season alone, he's been fined four other times.
The first time that Edwards was given a fine this season was on Nov. 15 against the Sacramento Kings. Similar to his most recent fine, this involved Edwards raising his middle finger at someone during the game.
After that, he received a $25,000 fine on Dec. 6 following a game against the Golden State Warriors. This time, the sanction was for his usage of profanity during his postgame interview with the media.
The next time he was fined was on Dec. 23 for criticizing the officials as well as his usage of profanity. The actions that landed him the fine happened on Dec. 21 and was worth $75,000.
His largest fine of the season occurred with his fourth one. The fine was announced on Dec. 29, but the reason he was fined was for usage of profanity in a live television interview after their Dec. 27 game against the Houston Rockets. The sanction was worth $100,000.
Following his latest fine of $50,000, Anthony Edwards has now been fined $285,000 in the 2024-25 season alone.
