"Better off getting LaVine over Beal" - Fans react to Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Bucks' pursuit of 3rd star

The Milwaukee Bucks struggled to begin the season, and there were rumors about Doc Rivers being on the hot seat.

They've straightened the course of the ship ever since, but they're still not at the same level as teams like the Boston Celtics or Cleveland Cavaliers.

With that in mind, they're reportedly looking to bolster their offense by adding a third star. According to The Athletic, they've set their sights on Bradley Beal and Zach LaVine, for that matter.

Needless to say, it didn't take long before the fans took to social media to express their feelings about that possibility, and most agreed that adding Beal wouldn't do much to help their case:

"In my opinion, the Bucks would be better off getting LaVine over Beal," one fan said.
"It’s starting to sound like it’s only a matter of time until Jimmy Butler is on the Suns and Beal is on the Bucks," another one predicted.
"How much more help does Giannis, Dame, Doc, and Darvin Ham need?" a fan added.
"Why would a team want an older, more injured, and extremely expensive player in Beal? These picks that Phoenix acquired are trash picks. Phoenix has to incentivize a lot of teams, including Beal, who has a no trade clause to make this work," one fan questioned.
"When have this model ever work?? GMs will never learn, with so much failed sample size lol, fit matters, coaching schemes matters, sacrifice matters, just build out your team the right way lol," another fan chimed in.

Beal is averaging roughly 17 points per game off the bench for the Phoenix Suns. That's far below the expectations for a player making north of $50 million for the season, and with his history of injuries, it would be hard to make a case for the Bucks to get him.

The Milwaukee Bucks need to make a move

Even if the Bucks don't end up getting Beal or LaVine, they clearly need to add another scoring threat.

Khris Middleton hasn't been the same player since he returned from injury, and he's averaging just over 12 points per game.

Of course, the Giannis Antetokounmpo-Damian Lillard tandem can combine for 60 points on any given night, but the "Big 3" approach has dominated the league for years now.

They're currently 24-17 and in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, and adding another scorer could get them over the top, or at least closer to the New York Knicks in the race for a top-three berth.
