Hoops fans shared candid reactions after Lakers rookie Bronny James finished his preseason with more points than the Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson. The 2024 NBA preseason wrapped up on Friday, with the Golden State Warriors securing a dominant 132-74 win over the Lakers at the Chase Center.
Despite the loss, Lakers coach JJ Redick and his staff had the opportunity to evaluate their young role players, who received extended minutes in the absence of the team's star players.
Bronny James started the game and delivered his best performance of the preseason, scoring 17 points and bringing his total preseason tally to 25 points, five more than Thompson's 21.

Fans were abuzz after Bronny's breakout game, humorously declaring him a better player than four-time NBA champion and Warriors star, Klay Thompson.
"I’m crine. We really begged for Klay all summer just for both of our rookies to be better than Klank," a fan wrote.
"Bronny surpassed Klay in his rookie season SPREAD THE WORD!!!!" commented another user.
"Bronny already better than klay," said another fan.

One fan humorously mentioned the Lakers' attempt to sign Thompson during the offseason.
"Ts is killing me bruh we almost traded for that fraudulent nig*a."

Bronny James started the game against the Golden State Warriors, logging 35:19 minutes. He scored 17 points on 7-of-17 shooting, including 1-of-5 from beyond the arc, while also contributing four rebounds, one assist, three steals and one block.
Overall, Bronny struggled throughout the preseason. In six games, the Lakers rookie averaged just 4.2 points per game, shooting 29.7% from the field, including a mere 8.3% from 3-point range. He attempted 37 shots, converting only 11 and made just one of his 12 attempts from beyond the arc.
