The Boston Celtics' full 2024-25 NBA regular-season schedule has been released. The reigning champions will kick off their title defense at home against the New York Knicks on Oct. 22. Before the contest, they will receive their championship rings and raise their historic 18th banner at TD Garden.
Boston is running back essentially the same team as last season, having yet to add any players via trade or free agency this offseason. The franchise's biggest additions have been its No. 30 and No. 54 2024 NBA draft picks, Baylor Scheierman and Anton Watson.
However, the Celtics, spearheaded by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, coasted through most of last season and the 2024 playoffs, finishing 80-21 overall. So, most would probably agree they have reason to be confident in their roster heading into next season.
After opening night, Boston has three weeks before its NBA Cup schedule commences. It will face the Atlanta Hawks (Nov. 12), Cleveland Cavaliers (Nov. 19), Washington Wizards (Nov. 22) and Chicago Bulls (Nov. 29) in East Group C. The first two group-phase games will come at home, while the latter two will be road showdowns.

As for holidays, Boston will host the new-look Paul George and Joel Embiid-led Philadelphia Sixers for a highly anticipated Christmas Day (Dec. 25) battle. Afterward, the Toronto Raptors will come to town for a New Year's Eve (Dec. 31) clash.
The Celtics' third and final holiday contest will take place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 20). They will visit Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors for a 2022 NBA Finals rematch.
That will mark their second matchup against the Warriors, with their first coming on Nov. 6 at TD Garden. During those contests, Tatum will face Team USA coach Steve Kerr, who controversially opted not to make him a consistent part of his rotation at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
