The Boston Celtics will lock horns with the Philadelphia 76ers in Wednesday's Christmas Day clash. The defending champions, who have largely been successful this season with a 22-7 record, enter this clash in streaky form. The Celtics have won three of their last six, which by their standards seems inconsistent.
Two losses came against the 13-15 Chicago Bulls and the shorthanded Orlando Magic, who won without Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Mo Wagner and Garry Harris. The game against the Sixers could also be tricky for the Celtics.
While they have seven wins in their last nine outings against Joel Embiid and Co., Boston could be significantly shorthanded for this clash. Three starters, including Jayson Tatum, are uncertain to suit up for this game.

Boston Celtics injury report: Jayson Tatum among potential absentees vs 76ers
The Celtics have provided a concerning injury report ahead of Wednesday's clash against the Philadelphia 76ers. Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White are all questionable and will be game-time decisions.
Tatum, who missed the last game against the Orlando Magic, is questionable with a non-Covid illness. He was a last-minute exclusion. Tatum was likely to play, but the Celtics pulled him out before tipoff. On Monday, Joe Mazzulla said his star player should be fine to play against the 76ers.
Meanwhile, Holiday is dealing with a right should impingement. The two-time NBA champion seemingly picked up the injury against the Magic. He's missed three games this season with different ailments.
On the other hand, his backcourt partner, White, has a right hamstring tightness issue. He also seemingly suffered the injury against the Magic. White is on the injury report for the first time because of this ailment. He's previously missed one game with a foot injury.
The other three absentees, JD Davison, Drew Peterson and Anton Watson, are out, citing G League commitments.
