Names of Caitlin Clark and Bronny James continue to be intertwined
Having entered the pro ranks around the same time, and with how things are panning out for them so far, it is not surprising that the names of Clark and Bronny James continue to be intertwined. Among those who recently brought it up was former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas.
In a recent episode of his "Gil's Arena" show, Arenas shared a bold take that what Clark has done with the Indiana Fever and the WNBA is, to some degree, what Bronny is doing for the LA Lakers and the G League, where he is currently assigned.
He said:
"I'm Bronny James... I'm coming to this (G League) arena, it's being filled up because of me. It's like Caitlin Clark."
Arenas' take drew a dissenting view from co-host Rashad McCants, who pointed out that it was like comparing apples and oranges, saying:
"Who is Caitlin Clark, though? She's greatness personified. She's not Bronny James."
Arenas had a quick retort, saying:
"It don't matter. The light is the light. I'm talking about the light itself... The light comes from people who want to see him succeed, and then there's light from people who want to see him fail."
Check out what they had to say below:
Clark had a solid rookie season in the WNBA last campaign, where she finished fourth in MVP voting and was named Rookie of the Year. She was also widely credited for helping infuse renewed interest in the league.
