Popular online streamer and YouTuber Kai Cenat had a light moment with NBA commissioner Adam Silver ahead of the reigning champions Boston Celtics' 2024-25 season debut against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. The mobster-looking content creator asked the league executive to "draft' him, which fans ridiculed him for.

The encounter took place at the TD Garden home of the Celtics, where the funny live streamer and longtime NBA fan was spotted talking to Silver and pleaded playfully to draft him, to which the NBA commissioner obliged.

Soon, funny takes on Kai Cenat from NBA fans started to pour in. Below are what some wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

One fan likened the dapper look the YouTuber sported to that of recording artist P Diddy, who's currently in hot water, saying:

"Bro is dressed likes 90s Diddy."
"'Why he dressed like a mob boss?," another spotlighted his attire
One user said: "'Why this man Kai look like a Batman villain.'"

Some fans, meanwhile, couldn't come to terms seeing Kai Cenat play on the court.

"Drafted to what? The baby league," one user wrote.
"The guy can barely jump," another fan pointed out.
"Kai is 5'2 he can't play," a skeptical user said.

Then others handed it to Kai Cenat for going for it, with one saying:

"Kai be doing the most randome side quests man."

Meanwhile, as for the game between Boston and New York, the Celtics won 132-109. Jayson Tatum led the way for the NBA champs with 37 points, going 8-of-11 from deep, to go along with 10 rebounds. Derrick White had 24 points, while Jaylen Brown added 23.

Kai Cenat a key content collaborator of the NBA

While Kai Cenat may not be playing in the NBA anytime soon, he's, however, a key content collaborator of the NBA, which he's very grateful for.

The online streamer was at the season opener in Boston to provide a behind-the-scenes account of the game between the Celtics and the New York Knicks. It was the first of many lined up not only for him but also in the league's Creator Program, which is designed to reach more audiences in innovative ways.

Kai Cenat spoke of his involvement in the program, highlighting how it's an honor for him to partner with the NBA:

"As a lifelong fan of this league, it's a dream come true to work with the NBA and other creators to bring more content to my supporters this season than ever before."

Last season, among content creators the NBA partnered with were Jenna Bandy, Jesser, Kris London, Lethat Shooter, and Tristan Jass.
