The NBA announced on Sunday that Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been fined $100k for the use of inappropriate language. NBA Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars released a statement about the league's decision to fine the youngster.

Edwards' use of foul language happened during the Wolves' 113-112 win against the Houston Rockets on Friday. According to the league's statement, "the fine amount is based in part on Edwards' history of using profane language during media interviews."

Fans expressed their thoughts about Edwards' fine on X (formerly Twitter).

What did Anthony Edwards say to the media that got him in trouble?

On Friday, Anthony Edwards had a huge moment for the Wolves as he forced a shot late in the fourth quarter that won them the game. The media interviewed Edwards after his game-winner, and the Minnesota star said the following in front of the camera:

"Man, all I knew was the play was for (Julius Randle) to go 14, big-small pick-and-roll, once he kicked it up, I got to go get it. S**t," Edwards said. "(Nickeil Alexander-Walker) found me, I'm like, 'S**t. I am going for the win.' Like Gibert Arenas said, I don't do overtime, so f**k it."

Before Christmas, the league issued a $75k fine on Edwards for his comments criticizing the officiating during their 113-103 loss against the Golden State Warriors on Dec. 21.

Even his actions are being closely monitored by the league. In November, the All-Star guard was fined $35k for his obscene gesture on the court while playing in the Emirates NBA Cup.
