Bronny James returned to action after multiple weeks on Saturday in the South Bay Lakers' G League matchup against the San Diego Clippers. LeBron James' son dealt with a heel injury that kept him on the sidelines since November 10. He looked excellent in his comeback in the first half of Saturday's game.

Bronny tallied 10 points on 3 of 7 shooting while adding two rebounds and an assist. The 20-year-old was 2 of 2 from the free throw line and 0-for-1 from the 3-point range. He was a +/- +9 as South Bay led 58-57 entering the halftime break.

Bronny continued his fine form in the second half, showing explosive play on both sides of the floor. He finished the night with a career-high 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and one block, shooting 6 of 15.

However, Bronny's woes from the 3-point range continued after missing all of his four attempts. He finished with a +/- +8. South Bay won the contest 119-111 in front of 567 people who attended the game at the UCLA Health & Training Center.

Bronny James didn't settle too much and preferred attacking the rim in this contest. Considering his shooting struggles in his rookie year, it seemed like the right thing to do.

Bronny James silences critics momentarily for him and his dad LeBron James

Bronny James' debut NBA season hasn't gone as planned. He's struggled on all fronts, and the criticism against him and his father, LeBron James, has been persistent. Several former NBA players and analysts, including prominent figures like Charles Barkley and Stephen A. Smith, have been critical of Bronny being fast-tracked into his pro debut.

LeBron James received bulk of the blame as many believe his desire to play with Bronny forced the 20-year-old to enter the league prematurely. The former USC prospect didn't play enough in college after a health scare before the season started postponed his college debut.

Bronny James didn't impress in his limited college career, playing 25 games, averaging a measly 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists, shooting 36.6%, including 26.7% from 3. His struggles translated into the pros.

However, his career-night effort, albeit at the G League level, should help reduce some of the noise around him, which already seemed to cool off amid his injury hiatus.

With fewer eyeballs and attention, Bronny evidently seemed more comfortable. He will hope to keep that up whenever he suits up next for the Lakers or South Bay.
