Los Angeles Lakers forward Christian Wood trolled a young fan on Instagram Sunday after being told he might be next on the trade block. The exchange began when Wood, who carries an annual cap hit of $3,036,040 this season (per Spotrac), commented on teammate Maxwell Lewis' farewell post.

Lewis was traded to the Brooklyn Nets as a part of the D'Angelo Russell trade.

"Yessir Lew go crazy gang," Wood wrote.

The forward's comment, however, attracted the attention of a few Lakers fans, and one of them suggested that Wood would be on the trade block next. In response, Wood humorously fired back, writing:

"@1lilserg_ boy you built like a lil teletubby in a suit."

After Wood's response, the fan deleted the comment.

Lakers trade D'Angelo Rusell to Brooklyn Nets

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers traded D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets, Maxwell Lewis and three second-round picks in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton.

The deal makes sense for both teams. The Lakers gain an experienced eight-year veteran in Finney-Smith, who previously played in the Western Conference with the Dallas Mavericks. Milton also adds value as a solid bench option, contributing 7.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game this season.

For the Nets, acquiring Russell fills a need after they traded Dennis Schröder to the Warriors for an injured De'Anthony Melton. Russell, who was benched earlier this season by coach JJ Redick, finds himself back in Brooklyn, where he played in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.

His return offers a fresh start and an opportunity to revitalize the Nets offense. Both teams are looking to bolster their playoff aspirations with this trade.

The Lakers, fifth in the Western Conference standings, aim to maintain their momentum heading into the second half of the season. Meanwhile, the Nets, sitting in 12th place in the Eastern Conference, hope this move sparks a turnaround in their campaign.
