Josh Hart has found a home with the New York Knicks alongside his collegiate teammates, Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges. While he has grown into a fan favorite, he has not been immune to online banter.
Hart landed in New York during the 2022-23 NBA season as part of a four-team trade involving the Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trailblazers. The 29-year-old guard has had no shortage of hilarious moments on and off the court during his NBA career and this trend continued when NBA fans made a discovery about his social media activity on X (formerly Twitter)
Last week, fans noticed that Hart had unfollowed X CEO Elon Musk on the app, which caused fans to poke fun at the Knicks guard. However, he has since unfollowed Musk.

An X user quipped fans seemingly bullied Hart into changing his mind.
"We bullied him into the right decision," the fan said.
"Bullyin works omg," another fan added.
Other fans commended Hart for unfollowing Musk but not without throwing jokes.
"Great job Hart," one fan commented with a "Cars" meme.
"He knows ball," another fan commented.
"Josh thought he'd see some cool rocket stuff or whatever and saw race science and Trump d**ksucking 24/7 and checked out LMFAO," another one added.
Fans troll Josh Hart for following Elon Musk
Josh Hart was discovered to have started following Musk on X last week, leading some fans to troll him, while others criticized the Knicks guard due to Musk's political associations.
"His first and easily his BIGGEST L," one fan commented.
"NYC athlete who's from Maryland supporting MAGA," another fan commented with a side-eyeing GIF.
"Don't let Knicks twitter see this," a third fan added.
The backlash stemmed from Musk's support of Donald Trump, causing fans to question whether Hart was endorsing the Republican presidential candidate.
Josh Hart is now entering his third season with the Knicks. In 81 regular-season games last season, he averaged 9.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Hart posted six triple-doubles last season, ranking fifth in the NBA. In the playoffs, he averaged 14.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 42 minutes per game.
