Former Chicago Bulls guard Ron Harper didn't hold back when discussing Houston Rockets forward Cam Whitmore's actions on Tuesday. Following an exceptional NBA summer league campaign, there were high hopes for Whitmore coming into the season. As we approach the halfway point, however, the forward has not been given the chance to make a major impact.
The Houston Rockets defeated the Washington Wizards 135-112 on Tuesday and Whitmore had a stellar performance. Following the win, Whitmore walked off the court directly to the locker room and allegedly did not celebrate with his teammates, a point that was picked up and shared by a couple of fan accounts on X.
Whitemore was likely frustrated at his lack of game time, and Ron Harper, who made name for himself with the Chicago Bulls, made his feelings clear on the subject after seeing the young 20-year-old leave the court.
"Today players are all about me and not about the teams….. go back to the old days and trade players to the worst teams in the league!!!!!" Harper commented.

Per Sportrac, Cam Whitmore signed a four-year, $15,595,310 deal with the Rockets and is contracted through the 2026-27 season. He is expected to be a key player for the franchise in the coming years.
The forward was a highly rated prospect coming out of Villanova and was selected by the Rockets with the 20th overall pick in the 2023 draft.
This season, Whitmore has played 18 games and has averaged just 14.8 minutes per game. He is averaging 9.5 points, 2,7 rebounds and 0.5 assists.
Tuesday's performance against the Wizards was one of Whitmore's best outings of the season. Over 18 minutes, he racked up 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting and converted three 3-pointers. The talented forward also chipped in with a rebound and a steal.
Whitmore has been used sparingly this season and will be hoping to play a bigger role down the line.
Ron Harper, who played 1,009 NBA games with four different organizations, knows how frustrating it can be to come off the bench, but was unimpressed by Whitmore's decision.
