The Brooklyn Nets lost their 26th game of the season on Sunday. They were not expected to be competitive this year and trading Dorian Finney-Smith and Dennis Schroder didn't help improve their chances.

However, even though the situation was never good, Ben Simmons is still frustrated with all the losses.

Following the defeat against the Utah Jazz, the former No. 1 pick took a jab at the organization.

“I know this is kind of like a rebuild situation, but we’ve got to go in there like we want to win regardless of what the front office is expecting," Simmons said, via The Brooklyn Game's Cody Mallory.

Given his long history of not playing, fans called Simmons out and mocked him for his comments.

"Buma** didn’t want to show up for 3 yrs and now wants to talk about winning. Release this clown," one fan said.
"So Ben Simmons is basically once again asking not to play, since that would give the team the best chance of winning," another fan wrote.
"NOW he trying to win," one fan commented.
"It's funny this is coming from Ben Simmons," another fan wrote.

Simmons has played only 57 games in the last two seasons and sat out the entire 2021-22 campaign. As talented as he is, it would take a lot of hard work to change the narrative around him.

The Nets 'dream' of trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Brooklyn Nets are still expected to trade Cam Johnson and other veteran players.

NBA insider Marc Stein reported on Monday that they could change their rebuilding plans if Giannis Antetokounmpo, who he called their "dream target," will be available.

However, there are no indications of that happening any time soon.

"Reminder: Someday depends on Antetokounmpo pushing the Bucks to trade him. Something he has shown no known inclination to do. There remains zero expectation that the Bucks would even consider the notion of trading Antetokounmpo unless he pushed for it," Stein wrote, via 'The Stein Line.'

With all the assets the Nets have gathered since the Mikal Bridges trade, they should be in a prime position to build a strong team via the NBA draft over the next couple of years.
