The LA Lakers waived two-way guard Quincy Olivari to sign big man Trey Jemison. Olivari won over Lakers fans with his performances in the Summer League, preseason and in the G League. The fanbase is questioning why the franchise made the move, while letting Bronny James stay.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Lakers releasing Olivari to make way for Jemison, who has played 41 games in his NBA career. He previously played for the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds.
Olivari, on the other hand, has only appeared in one game for the purple and gold. He played the majority of his games in the G League, averaging an impressive 7.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists.

NBA fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to show their support for Quincy Olivary and express their frustrations with the LA Lakers.
"But Bronny gets to stay???" a fan tweeted.
"He's better than Bronny lmao," one fan claimed.
"Why would they do this? Dude's going to the Grizzlies to avg 18ppg," another fan commented.
Quincy Olivari earned his two-way deal after performing really well in the Summer League and preseason.
"Quincy to the Warriors. Let’s get it done," a fan wrote.
"Went from Kessler talks to Trey Jemison," one fan quipped.
"Lmfao waiving Olivari is the biggest miss they could do. I mean the guy is great, but couldn't have a shot cuz Bronny," another fan remarked.
The Lakers have been linked to several big men ahead of the trade deadline, but it seems like they want to test Trey Jemison first. The Phoenix Suns already took one off the market, acquiring Nick Richards from the Charlotte Hornets.
Quincy Olivari signed an endorsement deal with the Curry Brand
Quincy Olivari went viral during the preseason when he dropped 22 points against the Golden State Warriors. Olivari then met his childhood idol, Steph Curry, who took a photo with him after the game.
The undrafted guard became emotional when he talked about Curry. It was a full circle moment for the Xavier product, who was then signed by his idol's brand. Olivari became the second athlete under Curry Brand, a subsidiary of Under Armour, as reported by ESPN.
It will be interesting to see if he'll get signed by a different team like the Warriors or return to the NBA G League.
