Laura Govan, former partner of ex-NBA star Gilbert Arenas, had a humorous reaction to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announcing that more than 600,000 Fortnite players would be refunded over $72 million.
The refunds stem from a settlement reached two years ago, where Epic Games agreed to adjust its billing and privacy practices. Players who filed valid claims before Oct. 8, 2023, and during the extension until Jan. 10, 2024, are set to receive payments via check or PayPal..
Reacting to the news on her Instagram Stories, Govan jokingly asked for a refund herself, pointing out that all four of her children play the game.
“Can i get my money back I got 4 kids who play!” she wrote.

Govan shares four children with Gilbert Arenas: Izela, Alijah, Hamiley and Aloni. Not only are the kids skilled Fortnite players, as their mother hinted, but they are also carving impressive paths in basketball, following in their father’s footsteps.
Alijah and Aloni are highly ranked prospects in men’s basketball, while Izela and Hamiley are making names for themselves in women’s basketball.
Laura Govan says one of her kids can beat Gilbert Arenas one-on-one
In June 2024, Laura Govan spoke to TMZ about her children’s athletic abilities. When asked if her son Alijah could beat Gilbert Arenas— a three-time NBA All-Star— in a one-on-one matchup, she didn’t hesitate.
“Hell yeah, you kidding me? F**k outta here," she said.
She also took a moment to praise Alijah’s character.
"He's a great kid," she said. "He's a scholar athlete. He's sweet. I've seen him tell me to stop in the middle of the street, take off his shoes, and give them to a homeless person. That's just who he is in his heart."
Recently, Alijah announced that he would be reclassifying to the class of 2025, effectively making him a senior at Chatsworth High School in Los Angeles.
