LeBron James's son, Bronny James, has been one of the most widely-discussed players of the 2024 NBA draft class. Of course, Bronny isn't expected to go early in the draft and could be a late selection on the second night of the draft, Thursday. Despite that, fans have wondered whether a team will take a swing at Bronny early in hopes of also landing LeBron.

One of the teams fans have wondered about is the Golden State Warriors, who are looking to bolster their roster after missing the playoffs this season. The team has the 52nd pick in the draft from Milwaukee, via the Indiana Pacers.

The pick is the only one that the Golden State Warriors currently have, with their first-round pick going to Portland at No. 14. Similarly, the No. 44 pick, which will be made by the Houston Rockets, also originated with the Warriors.

Despite that, if Bronny James is still available, the team could look to take a swing with the 52nd pick and draft him in the hope that he develops in the years to come. Of course, whether or not Bronny is still available for the Warriors to pick at No. 52 remains to be seen.

In addition, the team is guard-heavy right now. However, if they part ways with Klay Thompson and Chris Paul this offseason, that could change. While this would open up the door for the team to draft Bronny James, the Warriors could look to go with a more NBA-ready prospect.

Will LeBron James join Bronny James wherever he is drafted? Looking closer at the latest reports regarding four-time NBA champ

While Bronny James was still in high school, LeBron James said he wanted to play alongside both him and Bryce James. The situation fueled speculation that LeBron could opt out of the final year of his contract and sign a smaller deal with another team simply to join his son.

For months, there was talk surrounding whether or not a team drafting Bronny James would also subsequently be acquiring the future Hall of Famer. In May, however, reports indicated that LeBron's priorities had shifted, and playing with his son on the same team was no longer his focus.

The reports were corroborated by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst, who both indicated that James wasn't planning to leave LA just to join his son. Then, following the LA Lakers' exit from the postseason, James was asked about the situation once more during his exit interview with media members:

“I haven’t given it much thought lately. Obviously, I thought about it in the past. The end of the day, the kid has to do what he wants to do. I don’t even want to say kid no more. The young man will decide what he wants to do and how he wants his career to go.”

Given that reports have suggested James is likely to stay with the Lakers, it will be interesting to see if the franchise drafts his son.
