Canada will take on No. 16-ranked Puerto Rico in their final warm-up game, six days shy of their 2024 Paris Olympics opener against Greece. Canada has qualified for the Olympics for the first time since 2000, when they made their last appearance in the tournament.
It will be the country's first major tournament in a long time, having failed to qualify for the Olympics for over two decades.
They are expected to progress from their group stage and perhaps even reach the semi-final stage, with this squad labelled the country's golden generation.

Canada vs. Puerto Rico: Head-to-Head

Canada vs. Puerto Rico: One key player to watch
Dubbed as one of the brightest young talents of his generation and tearing up NBA for the OKC Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is going to be key to Canada’s Olympic hopes.
Alexander also finished as the runner-up for the NBA's Most Valuable Player Award, and will be looking to carry his outstanding form into the Olympics.
Last week, Canada suffered a hard-fought loss to the USA but required Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 8 points in the clutch fourth quarter in order to beat a tough France 85-73 on Thursday.
Jordi Fernández’s men will be expected to play their strongest lineup against the Los Gallos to attain the maximum amount of momentum going into the quadrennial sporting event.
Puerto Rico’s form in the tournament has been impressive (one win and one defeat), but they will have to put everything on the line, especially with the tough group they are part of, which includes reigning champions the USA, Serbia and South Sudan.
Their recent 90-75 loss to Australia was a wake-up call, with New Orleans guard Jose Alvarado held scoreless by a strong Australian defense.
