Carmelo Anthony’s ex-partner Mia Burks showed how proud she is of their daughter, Genesis Harlo Anthony. Burks shared an adorable picture of her daughter on her Instagram story, showing the seven-year-old’s youthful fashion sense while eating a snack.
In the story, Burks’ daughter is seen wearing a bucket hat while eating grapes at a table. The snap also showed Genesis Harlo’s braids.
Genesis Harlo is Carmelo Anthony’s only daughter. His other child is high school basketball player Kiyan Anthony, whose mother is La La Anthony.

Genesis Harlo was born during Anthony’s seven-year marriage with La La, which ultimately ended in divorce in 2021.
Burks celebrated her daughter's seventh birthday through a Knicks-themed celebration, inspired by Carmelo’s time in New York, which he is most remembered for during his career.
Burks’ daughter was born in 2017 when he was still playing with the New York Knicks. In that year, Anthony was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, pairing him up with then MVP Russell Westbrook, alongside Paul George and Steven Adams.
Anthony then played with the Houston Rockets before losing his spot in the league until the Portland Trail Blazers picked him up as a role player in the then-Damian Lillard-led team. Anthony finished his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played with Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, and longtime friend LeBron James.
Carmelo Anthony says he almost became a Knick again before he retired
Carmelo Anthony retired in 2022, ending his career in Los Angeles. However, he revealed that he desired to retire with the Knicks, a move that would have taken him back to his glory days as a player.
"I finished the season in LA…So that summer ... Like I already knew I wasn't going back to LA ... It was an energy, it was a vibe. It wasn't a bad vibe but it just wasn't a vibe like, we having that conversation to figure out something else," Anthony said during his 7PM in Brooklyn With Carmelo Anthony & The Kid Mero podcast.
"You just knew that they were going in a different direction, cool. So at that point, I'm like ... my plan is playing out the way that I wrote it out. To come back to New York, finish it out in New York, have my year. Play. If it's a good team, I still can play ball, still can help the team out," he added.
While it did not materialize, Anthony is still remembered as one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history, finishing ninth in the all-time scoring list with 28,289 points across 19 seasons.
