In a few weeks, the Boston Celtics will begin training camp and kick off their title defense. Fans were excited after hearing about an encounter between Joe Mazzulla and Kristaps Porzingis.
In a rare turn of events, Mazzulla spent the offseason rehabbing his body. Shortly after Boston won the championship, he said that he had torn meniscus.
After media day earlier this week, a story surfaced of a conversation between Mazzulla and Porzingis. He asked the former All-Star if training camp should be easy or hard this year. When Porzingis tried to give a reasonable answer, he responded by saying it should be extremely hard.
This remark from Mazzulla got Celtics fans even more fired up for the 2024-25 season.

"Someone tell Joe a joke or something. It’s only September," one fan commented.
This high-intensity response had some fans penciling in Boston going back-to-back this upcoming season.
"Bruh we are undoubtedly winning again," one fan said.
"it's joever for other teams," another fan said.
"them boys boutta hang another banner ngl," said one fan.
Boston was head and shoulders above the rest of the NBA last season en route to winning a championship. Now, they'll attempt to be the first team to go back-to-back since the Golden State Warriors in 2018.
Joe Mazzulla backs up statement of tough training camp for the Boston Celtics
Joe Mazzulla will enter his third season as head coach of the Boston Celtics after being promoted in Feb. 2023.
Due to their preseason schedule starting slightly earlier than the rest of the league, Boston has already started training camp. Based on videos that have surfaced, it seems Mazzulla meant what he said to Kristaps Porzingis. He was seen pushing and motivating the team to give it their all in camp.
"Championship hangover" is something brought up a lot during a team's title defense, but that might not be the case with Boston. Mazzulla seems like he has no plans of taking his foot off the gas coming off a title win. He understands the roster is built to contend again and wants to make sure they stay in the hunt.
In a little over a week, the Celtics will begin their preseason schedule with a matchup overseas. They are slated to take on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Abu Dhabi on October 4th.
Typically, title teams lose key players after reaching the mountaintop. However, that isn't the case here. The Celtics retained their key players; their sights should be set on defending their championship.
