Celtics' Xavier Tillman’s wife Tamia expresses 'fear for her black daughters' after Donald Trump’s win

Boston Celtics center Xavier Tillman’s wife Tamia Tillman remarked about her 'fear' for the future of her black children following Donald Trump’s election win to be the 47th US president. Tamia reposted a statement from an Instagram user named Kate Austin and wrote a lengthy caption about her concerns.

“I can’t even process how scared I am as a woman, as a mother of 2 black daughters, one of (whom) will become a preteen during this term,” Tillman wrote.

“For the first time in life, (I) feel genuine defeat,” she said.

Trump returns to the White House after filling the top position in the country from 2016 to 2020. With the win, he has also become the first presidential nominee to be elected as a convicted felon. He was convicted earlier this year on 34 felony counts of falsified business records.

Tamia Tillman added that her family will be affected by Trump’s potential tax policies.

“Mind you our household (unlike most people) would actually be affected by the tax policies everyone thought was such a big deal. BUT WE VALUE PEOPLE’S RIGHTS MORE THAN MONEY!!!! & if you don’t please read those last 2 lines again,” Tillman said about Trump.

Tamia’s sentiment relates to Xavier Tillman signing a two-year, veteran minimum deal with the Boston Celtics after they won the NBA championship last season. The deal will earn him an estimated $2.2 million this season and $2.5 million in the 2025-26 season.
