The LA Lakers have lost six of their last eight games. They have a 12-10 record and fell to ninth in the Western Conference.

Moreover, it seems like Father Time has finally caught up with LeBron James. Even with a 29-point performance against the Miami Heat on Wednesday, the four-time NBA champion has struggled to get things going on the offensive end lately. He shot 4 of 16 for 10 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday and 5 of 13 for 12 points versus the OKC Thunder on Friday.

J.J. Redick's team has been outscored by a combined 70 points in the past two games, the worst two-game stretch in franchise history.

As much as the team has struggled as a whole, former NFL star Chad Ohocinco Johnson believes James doesn't deserve a pass for this slump.

"I know I don't like, though I know what I don't like tonight," Johnson said (05:43) on Wednesday, via 'Nightcap.' "I respect both of your basketball knowledge. I respect both of your basketball prowess and understanding of the game. But I don't appreciate y'all saying making these excuses for LeBron.
"I don't like that. I don't like the fact that y'all are not giving the Heat credit for putting belt the a** to the Lakers. And that's what happened tonight."

Johnson added that even the best athletes go through rough stretches, and as good a player as James is, he's not the exception to that rule.

"Know, ain't nothing wrong with him," Johnson said (06:45). "LeBron is human. LeBron is going to have bad games. You know, sometimes, like playing baseball, sometimes you go in the slump. Sometimes you mean, you ain't seeing the ball like you always do. It happens. Sometimes, it receives. Sometimes you drop the ball, um, sometimes you dropped the ball, you have a bad game. That's all he's showing us."

LeBron James says loss to Heat was embarrassing

The Lakers may have reached a new low following their 41-point loss to the Miami Heat, with James calling the team out for not competing.

“If you don’t want to come to compete, there’s other issues,” James said to reporters after the game. “We’ve got to figure it out. It’s definitely embarrassing, for sure.”

There's still a lot of time left to turn things around and get back to their winning ways, but it seems like something will need to change in the locker room for the Lakers to get over this slump.
