Ahead of the OKC Thunder’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, NBA insider Marc J. Spears shared a significant update on Chet Holmgren’s recovery. Holmgren has been out of action since November 10 last year after suffering a brutal right iliac wing fracture during a game against the Golden State Warriors.
Initially, the Thunder announced that the 7-foot-1 center would be re-evaluated within 8-10 weeks. Now, over nine weeks later, the team has provided an update on their prized player’s status.
The former Gonzaga standout will remain sidelined for an additional three to five weeks as he continues his recovery process.
"Thunder say Chet Holmgren is continuing to progress in his return to play protocol and will be re-evaluated in approximately three to five weeks," Spears tweeted.
