Draymond Green continues to comment on Rudy Gobert’s 2024 Paris Olympics campaign. A few days ago, he took a shot at the Minnesota Timberwolves center for getting benched against Canada. Green noted Gobert’s explanation that it was surgery that kept him out, but France coach Vincent Collet said it was because of matchup issues.
Gobert had another cameo appearance in Les Bleus’ 73-69 semi-final win against Germany. Green didn’t comment about that but opened up about possibly going to Paris for the gold medal game between France and Team USA.
Draymond Green told his podcast guest, Baron Davis, that he planned to watch the game. Davis suggested that the Golden State Warriors star sit behind the French bench to troll Rudy Gobert. Catching the hilarity of the situation, Green added that he would “talk” to the French center during the game.
Basketball fans promptly reacted to Green’s plan:

“Choke volume part 2 loading. Gonna be some epic memes out of this”
A Warriors supporter couldn’t hold back:
“This man Draymond a legendary hater lmao”
One fan couldn’t disagree more with Green’s plan:
“Draymond needs to chill out on Gobert. He’s doing too much now”
"Dray vs Rudy brawl coming tmr 😭," a fan said.
"Draymond’s so considerate that he wants to make sure that Rudy ain’t bored while rotting in France bench," another fan joined the troll bandwagon.
Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert first started their beef in 2017. It started quietly before it became more and more personal. Last year, the back-and-forth finally boiled over when Green choked Gobert after grabbing him in a headlock during a game. The Dubs’ defensive ace dug into his stance and said that he did not “regret” doing what he did in an interview with ESPN.
It isn’t only in the NBA that Green and Gobert tussled. The two were at it again in the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. France won in the preliminary stage before Team USA got its revenge in the gold medal game. Even when he is not part of this year’s team in Paris, it seems like Green is determined not to let Gobert win the gold.
Draymond Green wants to wear his gold medals to taunt Rudy Gobert
Draymond Green’s plans in Paris don’t just include sitting behind the French bench to “talk” to Rudy Gobert.
“I’m going [to France]," Green said in his eponymous podcast. "I’m this close to wearing both of my gold medals.”
One of those gold medals came against France in the Tokyo Olympics, so wearing that in Paris will not go unnoticed. The basketball world will be watching if Draymond Green will walk the talk and do as planned.
