The next generation of hoopers could feature plenty of second-generation players, with Chris Paul and Matt Barnes' sons carving their own careers. Paul's son, Chris Paul II, has just begun paving his basketball path at Campbell Hall School, while Barnes' twin sons, Isaiah and Carter, play for Crespi Carmelite High School.
Paul II and Isaiah Barnes were photographed during a semifinal game between their schools at the Classic at Damien, one of the West Coast's biggest tournaments, on Saturday. Crespi won the matchup 84-70.
The image was reposted by Paul II's mother, Jada Paul, on her IG Story, alongside the caption:
"Literally crying. Because where are the babies?"

Chris Paul II is a freshman in high school and is the oldest son of Chris and Jada. He was born in 2009 and has often been seen attending his father's games with the San Antonio Spurs. Paul II has a younger sister, Camryn Alexis, who was born in August 2012.
Meanwhile, Carter and Isaiah Barnes are Matt Barnes' twin sons with his ex-wife, Gloria Govan.
The Classic at Damien tournament pits some of the top high schools from California, Nevada and Arizona. This year, the tournament is sponsored by Skechers Basketball and Southern California Honda.
Matt Barnes and Chris Paul were teammates on the LA Clippers from 2012-15. During this time, the Clippers were a regular presence in the playoffs and were considered contenders by some. However, the farthest they got was the conference semifinals.
Chris Paul II corrects his father for calling him 'small'
Chris Paul, who has been in the NBA for nearly 20 years, has earned 12 All-Star nods and multiple All-NBA selections. He's also been the league leader in steals and assists several times.
Given his long and successful career, it's safe to say that he has plenty of basketball wisdom to impart. In light of this, he relayed his advice for his son in an Instagram video last month:
"My son is small just like I was. And I've talked to him about the training and how hard it is. He's finally starting to see a little bit of change right in his game or whatever. All I keep telling him is, 'keep stacking days. As long as you keep stacking days, I promise you, you will see the change.'"
While Paul's advice was heartfelt and was meant to inspire his son, the situation took a hilarious turn when Paul II commented on the video:
"I'm 6ft 😭."
Chris Paul is among the shortest players in the NBA at 6-foot-0. Meanwhile. 247 Sports lists his son at 5-foot-11.
