The Golden State Warriors will host the red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday in a rematch of the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 NBA finals. The Cavs bring a six-game win streak to the Chase Center and will be aiming to send a message to the league with a statement win over Steph Curry and co.

It has been a disappointing start to the campaign for the Warriors. Steve Kerr's team has an underwhelming 16-15 record and are barely hanging on to a play-in spot in the West. They will have to be at their best if they hope to overcome a talented and deep Cleveland roster.

The Cavaliers (27-4) have the best record in the NBA and hold a commanding 4.5 game lead over the Boston Celtics in the East.

The Cavaliers have set to pace in the NBA, winning 27 of their first 31 games. They are 9-1 in their last 10 games and have a 10-3 record in away games. The Cavs have won six straight games coming into Monday's encounter, a run that included notable wins over the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.

Cleveland is yet to lose to a Western Conference opponent this season. Kenny Atkinson's team have a perfect 7-0 record outside of their conference and will be looking to maintain that 100% record when they visit the Bay Area.

A potent offense has been the key behind the Cavs' early season success. they are averaging a whopping 122.7 points per game, with only the Memphis Grizzlies averaging more.

Five-time NBA All-Star Donovan Mitchell has been the standout player for the Cavs over their first 31 games. The 28-year-old shooting guard leads the roster in points (23.6) and steals (1.6), and ranks second in assists (4.7). Rising stars Darius Garland, 24, and Evan Mobley, 23, have also been key figures for Cleveland.

After a strong start to the 2024-25 campaign where they won 10 of their first 12 games, the Warriors experienced a slump that was riddled with errors and inconsistent shooting. Golden State had a five-game losing streak between the end of November and early December, and currently sits in ninth position in the West with a 16-15 record.

The Warriors come into Monday's game following a 109-105 win over the Phoenix Suns with Jonathan Kuminga leading the way with 34 points. Steve Kerr's team is 3-7 in their last 10 games and has an 8-7 record in home games.

Steph Curry will be the player to keep an eye on for Golden State. The two-time MVP continues to put up big numbers year after year. This season, Curry is averaging 22.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Kuminga ranks second on the roster with 16.7 ppg.

Darius Garland has led the Cleveland Cavaliers in points in four of their last seven games. The versatile guard is capable of chipping in with points and assists when required. In what is expected to be a high scoring game, Garland should be able to go over the 20.5 points set for him.

Jonathan Kuminga is coming off back-to-back 34-point performances. Kerr has been giving his young forward more minutes and the decision seems to be paying off. Kuminga ranks second in the lineup with 16.7 ppg, but given his strong performances over the last week, expect to see him finish with more than the 19.5 points set for him.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Golden State Warriors prediction

If any team can put a stop to the Cleveland Cavaliers six-game win streak it is the Golden State Warriors. Playing in front of a boisterous home crowd at the Chase Center, a deep Golden State lineup should be able to keep up with the Cavs fast-pace offense. Expect to see a close game on Monday, where the Warriors cover the 4.5-point spread.
