"Clippers run LA at this point"- NBA fans troll LeBron James and the LA Lakers after they lose their 11th straight game to their city rivals

Los Angeles Lakers v Los Angeles Clippers
LeBron James in action against the LA Clippers

The Battle of LA comes to an end as LeBron James and the LA Lakers fall short against the LA Clippers. With NBA fans tuning in to watch the intracity rivalry, some shared their responses to the result.

The LA Lakers were overwhelmed by their hometown rivals on Wednesday night. Playing the Clippers on the second night of a back-to-back, the fatigued Lakers were dealt a 118-125 loss.

Although the score-difference indicated a close game, the Lakers were practically blown out early on. Featuring a 24-point difference at one point in the fourth, the Purple and Gold were clearly outmatched.

Heroics by LeBron James late in the second half managed to bring the score closer. However, the Clippers did just enough to retain their lead.

A tremendous performance by Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard helped the Clippers seal the deal in the "Battle of LA". With 11 straight wins against the Lakers, the Clippers' reign over LA remains.

With fans also sharing the same sentiment, we took a look at some of their reactions on Twitter. Here are some of the best ones:

With this loss, the LA Lakers(41-39) find themselves falling to seventh in the West. Now tied with the New Orleans Pelicans, the Purple and Gold are in the hot seat again as they prepare to face the Phoenix Suns next.

LeBron James and the LA Lakers were outplayed

The loss to the LA Clippers(42-38) is yet another edition in a long list of times the Clippers outplayed the LA Lakers. Given the manner in which the Clippers started out the game, Purple and Gold never stood a chance.

The Clippers hit the ground running from the get-go. Russell Westbrook pushed the tempo early on while Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard chipped away at the Lakers' defense throughout the game. With Bones Hyland and Terance Mann also shooting lights out from 3-point range, the Lakers were left shellshocked.

The Lakers' energy was drastically different. The fatigue from the OT-win against Utah was telling.

LeBron James was sloppy in the first-half. Although he picked up the pace in the second, the Lakers were already lagging. Although Anthony Davis had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the game, he was far from relevant against the Clippers' bigs.

While accounting for the team's overall mishandled passes and missed turnovers, the Lakers were truly underwhelming.

With a chance to make the playoffs on the line, the Lakers cannot afford to lose to the Suns.
