Washington Commanders part owner Magic Johnson beamed with pride as he shared his feelings on the team's massive milestone. The Commanders secured their first playoff win since 2005 after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 on Sunday.

During a postgame interview, he praised the team's players and talked about how proud he is of them.

"The culture changed," Johnson said, via Monumental Sports Network's Mitchell Tischler. "So you went from a losing culture to a winning culture but it's about those players. They decided that they wanted to win, they didn't worry about what the analyst said and what all the people said."

The NBA legend also praised Terry McLaurin and called him. The wide receiver answered Johnson's call and shared a hug with him. McLaurin said that the job is not yet done, highlighting that they plan to keep going.

In July 2023, Johnson expanded his business portfolio and added the Washington Commanders to his list of entrepreneurial victories. He became the franchise's part owner alongside Josh Harris and others.

In an interview with NBC on July 21, 2023, the five-time NBA champion said that acquiring the NFL team was one of the biggest things he had done in his life.
