The LA Lakers have unveiled their latest City Edition jerseys for the 2024-25 season. Releasing brand-new jerseys ahead of every season has become the standard practice in the modern NBA. For Lakers, their latest City edition jerseys are called "The California Destiny."
These jerseys feature the typical purple tint that fans have gotten used to but the shade gets darker in the upper torso. The team gave their fans a first look at these jerseys on their social media accounts.
These jerseys have divided the fans, with a few saying it does not look good.

"Crazy how bron can make trash jerseys have aura," one person said.
"LMAOO TS IS A**," another person tweeted.
"I’d pay a lot of money to throw these away," one person said.
On the other hand, several fans appreciated the design of the new City Jerseys.
"Love the new City Edition jerseys! They really capture the vibe of the Lakers. Can’t wait to see the team rock them on the court!" One fan said.
"Finally a good city edition jersey! FIRE," another posted.
"Nice Jerseys. Should've had these when Kob' played," one person said.
Before it was officially unveiled, the design of these new jerseys was leaked. At the time, fans did not appreciate how it looked. However, several people appear to have changed their minds now.
The LA Lakers will debut these jerseys on Nov. 21 in a home game against the Orlando Magic. On the same day, the team will also debut an alternate court that features a similar gradient to the jerseys.
Lakers players react to their new City Edition jerseys and alternate court
It wasn't just the fans who shared their opinion on the LA Lakers' brand-new City Edition jerseys. The players themselves reacted to them and these reactions were shared on the team's YouTube channel.
Four-time MVP LeBron James said the jerseys represented the team and the city. He described the new court as dope. Meanwhile, his son, Bronny James, said that the new uniforms looked nice.
Guard Austin Reaves thought that the new jersey and the new court were a perfect tandem. D'Angelo Russell, Reaves' running mate on the backcourt, claimed that the new jerseys might be his favorite. He also complimented the new court's design by calling it "sick."
Guard Max Christie also seemed thoroughly impressed with the new designs. In particular, he liked the color gradient of the jerseys.
The Lakers also have the Icon, Association and Statement edition jerseys. However, they have yet to release a schedule of which jerseys they will wear on specific game nights.
