The San Antonio Spurs have a rich history of elite big men. David Robinson and Tim Duncan had different playing styles, but they were both physical, strong defenders who dominated the glass and led the way on offense.
Victor Wembanyama isn't much of a bruiser, but he has the potential and the responsibility to carry the torch. Fortunately for the organization, he has embraced that challenge not only on the court but also off of it.
That was on full display after their game against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday when he approached a young fan sitting courtside to swap jerseys.
That gesture didn't go unnoticed, with Chris Paul's wife, Jada Crawley, raving about it on her Instagram stories.

Spurs interim coach talks about Wembanyama's development
Expectations have always been sky-high for Wembanyama. The Spurs have also been critical with him, knowing what it takes to be great.
San Antonio acting coach Mitch Johnson called him out for his errant passes and missed catches in the win over the Sacramento Kings on Dec. 2, when he had a game-high five turnovers.
"He can do everything," Johnson said, via ESPN. "So, when you have that many options on the menu, to think you're going to pick the right one every time is tough. He's a young player that's learning how to use all the weapons that he has. There's obviously tremendous belief and great support for him as he learns when and where to utilize all those weapons."
The former No. 1 pick has also drawn criticism for taking too many 3-pointers. Some fans and analysts argued that he should make the most of his height and dominate down low.
"It doesn't surprise me because it's conventional wisdom," Johnson said. "For someone that is as in tune with who he wants to be and who he has the potential to be as Victor, it's our job to respect that and kind of partner with him in growing who that is. I think there's just an element of understanding sometimes when and how. As he gets more experience, he's gotten a lot better with that."
This season, Wembanyama is averaging 25.2 points, including 36.1% from beyond the arc on 9.4 attempts, 10.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 4.0 blocks per game.
