D'Angelo Russell created a stir when the Los Angeles Lakers guard agreed with a post on X that likened him to Steph Curry. D'Lo reposted a comment on the social media platform comparing his big-game heroics to the Warriors ace's Paris Olympics exploits.
"I humbly agree," Russell wrote.

The original post that compared D'Lo to Curry praised the Lakers star for his clutch performances:
"You guys realize Dlo gets hot like Curry did yesterday? Or should we just ignore the facts?"
Curry delivered a spectacular outing in the gold medal game, securing a win for Team USA with his three-point shooting. He owned the perimeter and sunk some of the most clutch shots seen in an Olympic contest. He went 8 of 13 from deep and scored a team-high 24 points to lead USA towards victory.
Russell, on the other hand, was not selected for the USA Men's National Basketball Team. He had a good season with the Lakers, averaging 18.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists while netting 41.5% from distance.
NBA fans react to D'Angelo Russell's deleted Stephen Curry comparison tweet
The NBA community sounded off after D'Angelo Russell agreed that he delivers the same level of performances as Stephen Curry's Olympic heroics. They flooded X with opinions on the matter. One fan stated D'Lo was delusional for thinking he could match Curry.
"The most delusional man in the NBA."
Other fans joined the fray by expressing their thoughts on the Lakers star's deleted tweet:
"If Only he can get hot like Curry in the playoffs, he can help the Lakers beat the Nuggets!," @aprcn said.
"I’m so tired of D’Angelo Russell bruh," @rhmlm said.
"D'Angelo Russell????? A more accurate comparison is Jordan Poole doggy stay in your lane," @sumiiitup said.
"I mean dlo can get hot like curry, but he can’t do it in the playoffs," @Br0nToLA23 said.
Another fan supported Curry while giving an opinion on why the Lakers star may have deleted his tweet.
"There’s a reason he deleted the tweet y’all. We’ve all thought we were hot sh*t for a second, and then realized we don’t really got it like that. Curry is the greatest shooter of all time. Period."
D'Angelo Russell opted in on his contract last month and will stay with LAL for now. However, his role under new coach JJ Redick is still a mystery.
