The injury-plagued Dallas Mavericks are set to face the LA Lakers in a Western Conference clash on Tuesday. Under normal circumstances, a matchup featuring Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving going head-to-head with LeBron James and Anthony Davis would be a must-watch event. Unfortunately, that's not the case this time.

The Mavericks will be without both Doncic and Irving for Tuesday's game and to make matters worse, they will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back.

The Slovenian superstar remains sidelined with a left calf strain and is expected to miss at least another month before nearing a return. Recently, he was seen using a scooter to get around, unable to put any weight on his left foot.

Irving, meanwhile, was ruled out on Monday for at least one to two weeks due to a bulging disc in his back. The absence of Dallas' two biggest stars is undoubtedly disappointing for basketball fans worldwide.

Adding to their woes, Daniel Gafford suffered a left ankle sprain during Monday's game against the Grizzlies and will also be unavailable for the matchup against the Lakers.

"Sprained ankle, I think it is. We'll see how he feels," coach Kidd said of Gafford's injury. "He's probably going to be out for some time."

Additionally, Dereck Lively II was seen limping during a few plays in the fourth quarter against the Grizzlies but downplayed any significant concerns afterward.
