After a back-and-forth first half, the Rockets ended their two-game losing streak by beating the Mavs 110-99. Alperen Sengun led the way for Houston with 23 points, six rebounds, four assists and six steals. Jalen Green added 22 points, while Cam Whitmore scored 18 points off the bench.
Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving was held to just 16 points by the Rockets defense. Klay Thompson also had 16 points, while Quentin Grimes scored a team-high 17 points off the bench.

In the first quarter, the Dallas Mavericks built an early 10-point lead because of Klay Thompson's hot shooting. The Houston Rockets immediately fought back and even got the lead in just four minutes. They were aggressive in attacking the paint, leading to 13 free throw attempts and making 10 of them.
Thompson had eight points for Dallas, while Kyrie Irving was pretty quiet with zero points in two shots. Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green led the way for Houston in the first 12 minutes with eight points each, but the Mavs were up 30-24 entering the second quarter.
Dallas appeared to be on their way to dominating the game when they built another 10-point lead early in the period. However, the Rockets went on a 23-4 run to turn things around and get their own nine-point advantage. They carried a 61-52 lead at halftime.
Cam Whitmore was the star of the second quarter, scoring 13 points and sparking the Rockets' run. Alperen Sengun's aggressiveness in the paint started it all, while Jalen Green's acrobatic and-one finished it off.
The Houston Rockets continued to pad their lead in the third quarter with their hot shooting and impressive defense. They kept the Dallas Mavericks at bay throughout the period, not letting the lead get below 10 heading into the fourth quarter.
Dallas tried their best to make a comeback, but their turnovers were costly and they couldn't make enough to get some momentum. The lead grew to 18 points, with Mavs coach Jason Kidd emptying his bench in the final two minutes.
With their win, the Rockets improved 22-11 for the season to remain in the third spot in the Western Conference standings. The Mavs have now lost three in a row and dropped to 20-14. They are still No. 4 in the West, but the Denver Nuggets, LA Clippers and LA Lakers are hot on their tail.
