Dallas Wings forward Maddy Siegrist echoed Luka Doncic's thoughts on why today's youth seem to distance themselves from sports and spend more time in the digital world. According to Doncic, this shift has something to do with how adults pressure kids.

Doncic believes the way athletes are always expected to be in top form and consistently deliver their best performance has led to a decline in enthusiasm for sports among young people.

"Kids are walking away from basketball and other sports because we've replaced joy with pressure," Doncic said. "When we treat young players like pros, we lose the friendship, growth and fun that make sports special. This has to change."

It seems that Dallas Wings forward Maddy Siegrist agrees with Dončić's sentiments. She reposted a picture on Instagram shared by A Coach's Diary, featuring Doncic's quote.

Luka Doncic set to miss at least 1 month of basketball action due to injury

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is expected to miss at least a month of games due to an injury he suffered on Christmas Day against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

After 16 minutes of play on Wednesday, Doncic strained his left calf, forcing him to leave abruptly. His mid-game absence contributed to the Dallas Mavericks' downfall as the Timberwolves notched a 105-99 victory.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Doncic had a solid outing before making his exit. He contributed 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal. After the Christmas game, Doncic immediately received medical attention and is expected to be sidelined past the New Year.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Luka Doncic's injury will be re-evaluated after one month. Depending on his recovery, there is a possibility that his injury could linger into February.

Doncic is the Mavericks' leader, averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Their next-best player is Kyrie Irving, who is averaging 24.0 ppg, 5.1 apg, 4.6 rpg and 1.1 spg.

Other than these two stars, no other Mavericks player is averaging at least 20 points per game. With that in mind, Irving and the rest of the Dallas squad will need to step up in Doncic's absence.
