Dalton Knecht and the LA Lakers faced the Cleveland Cavaliers in a regular season matchup at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Knecht struggled with his shooting as the Purple and Gold fell to a 122-110 loss at home.
The rookie came off the bench but was unable to deliver the scoring spark the Lakers had anticipated from the young forward.
Dalton Knecht finished the game with four points on 2-of-8 shooting, including 0-of-5 from 3-point range in 22 minutes. He also recorded three rebounds and one assist while recording a plus/minus of -3.

In the first quarter, Knecht attempted a 3-pointer from the top of the key but couldn’t convert. He later grabbed an offensive rebound and set up Shake Milton for a wide-open corner three. The Lakers rookie finished the opening period with a rebound and an assist but missed his only shot attempt.

Dalton Knecht got on the scoreboard in the second quarter with a smooth mid-range jumper. Shortly after, he missed a corner three but redeemed himself by driving into the paint and finishing with a tough layup.
He finished the half with four points on 2-of-4 shooting, including 0-of-2 from 3-point range. He also recorded two rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes.
Knecht had a tough time finding his rhythm after halftime, struggling to make an impact offensively. The rookie attempted three shots in the third quarter, including two from beyond the arc, but failed to convert any of them.
The fourth quarter didn’t go any better for him, as he missed yet another 3-point attempt. Coach JJ Redick, having seen enough, decided to pull the rookie from the game early in the final period as the Purple and Gold went on to lose the game by 12 points.
