How did Dalton Knecht perform against the LA Clippers?
Dalton Knecht started the game on the bench as coach JJ Redick went with his usual starting five of Austin Reaves, Max Christie, Rui Hachimura, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He did not play in the first quarter, with the Clippers leading 33-26 after the first 12 minutes.
In the second quarter, Knecht finally got his chance at the 10:10 mark when he subbed in for Dorian Finney-Smith. He made his first shot less than a minute later, which was a jumpshot that cut the LA Clippers lead to just four points.
However, the visitors got overwhelmed for the rest of the half as the Clippers took control of the game. The LA Lakers were down by as much as 17 points, with a score of 64-49 at halftime.
Dalton Knecht received more minutes in the third quarter when the LA Lakers were down by 26 points. Knecht provided some spark by helping the Lakers make a run to end the period and cut the deficit down to 15 points entering the final period.
However, the Lakers lost the momentum halfway through the fourth quarter as Norman Powell and James Harden steadied the ship for the Clippers. Kawhi Leonard did not play in the final period, so Ty Lue had to rely on his second and third-best players.
It worked as the Clippers held off the Lakers to earn the 116-102 win. Kawhi Leonard had 19 points and four assists, while Ivica Zubac provided 21 points and 19 rebounds. Harden also had a double-double of 21 points and 12 assists, with Powell scoring 22 points.
As for the Lakers, LeBron James was the best player on the court with 25 points, five rebounds and 11 assists. Anthony Davis had a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, but it was not enough to win the battle of Los Angeles.
