Dalton Knecht has had his moments for the LA Lakers this season, but it has been an uphill battle for minutes and consistency. Knecht has primarily come off the bench and is averaging 9.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. He's shooting 45.9% from the field, including 35.2% from beyond the arc.

For Monday's game against LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets, Knecht was not in the starting lineup of Austin Reaves, Max Christie, Dorian Finney-Smith, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. But how did the rookie swingman fare in tonight's game versus Charlotte?

Knecht didn't have a lot of impact for the Lakers, finishing with two points, two rebounds and a steal. He committed four personal fouls as the visitors survived a late run by the Hornets to take home the 112-107 win.

Here are Dalton Knecht's stats in the first quarter:

How did Dalton Knecht perform against the Charlotte Hornets?

Dalton Knecht was the first player to come off the bench for the LA Lakers. He entered the game at the 6:33 mark of the first quarter to give LeBron James a breather. He was on the court for six minutes and had zero points. The Lakers were up 39-19 after the first 12 minutes.

The Tennessee product started the second quarter, but barely had any impact as the Hornets began making a comeback. He scored his only basket of the half three minutes into the period with a fadeaway jumpshot. He was subbed out midway through the period as the Lakers were only ahead 59-51 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Knecht was on the bench until the 4:28 mark when he gave James another breather. He was not aggressive the entire game and missed two shots in the period, including one from beyond the arc.

Dalton Knecht added two more minutes of playing time in the fourth quarter, but only did cardio. The Lakers were in control for most of the game, but the Hornets were one pesky bunch.

They made it an interesting contest in the final minute before falling short of an upset, with LaMelo Ball out since the second quarter with a sprained ankle.

Anthony Davis had a monster game for the LA Lakers with 42 points, 23 rebounds, three assists and three blocks. LeBron James put up 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Austin Reaves added 17 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals.

On the other hand, Miles Bridges had a team-high 26 points for the Charlotte Hornets. Josh Okogie scored 19 points off the bench, while Josh Green added 15 points and three steals. Ball only had seven points when he went down with an injury after stepping on Jarred Vanderbilt's foot.
