Damian Lillard shares joyful 4-word response to Thanksgiving reunion with his children

Damian Lillard's first year with the Milwaukee Bucks was a tough one. His team didn't fare as well as expected, and he also went through a lot in his personal life, including divorce.

That's why he's making the most of every second he has with his kids. He shared a heartwarming video of him and his children in bed while enjoying their Thanksgiving.

Lillard admitted in December that being away from his kids was the toughest part of his trade from the Portland Trail Blazers:

“That’s probably been the biggest challenge, being away from my kids,” Lillard said, via Andscape's Marc J. Spears. “Being away from everything that I’ve known. It’s a hurdle. It is an everyday battle. Any father or any mother would know that. When you wake up and you are able to be physically present with your kids, there is nothing else that you love more in the world.

"So being away from my kids, I wake up every day like, man, they are not seeing my face today physically. I can’t hug them. I can’t go pick my son up from school. I can’t pick up my twin daughter and son. It’s things that you just can’t do being this far away. And those are things that I love to do the most and I take a lot of pride in. When you get stripped of that, and for a great reason, there is a lot to be thankful for. But it’s just hard.”

The Bucks have turned things around after a slow start to the season. While most of it has to do with him and Giannis Antetokounmpo, he had plenty of praise for AJ Green, who has given the offense a big boost with his 3-point shooting:

“'Sniper,' I say that all the time, If you watch AJ pregame, if you watch him before practice, he’s spinning the ball out to himself, running full speed catching it and raising up quick with his momentum, off the dribble, off the catch, spinning out, curling out, every spot on the floor," Lillard said on Tuesday, via The Athletic. "I literally sit in the chair on the sideline before practice and watch him do it every day.

“It’s a reason why I trust him that much because I know his confidence and I know that he works on that stuff. So, whether he didn’t have a shot all night or whether he had shot a lot of balls, whenever he raises up, I feel good about it."

Green is averaging 7.9 points per game on 47% from beyond the arc, and he's making the most of the wide-open looks he gets when Damian Lillard, Antetokounmpo and his teammates pass the ball to him.
