Damian Lillard teases signature Adidas 'BAPE x DAME 9' sneakers, set to drop soon

The ninth shoe in Damian Lillard's signature line with Adidas is set to drop a brand-new colorway. The Milwaukee Bucks point guard and Adidas have partnered with BAPE to create the 'BAPE x DAME 9' colorway and it is set to release soon.

Dame himself dropped a teaser for his signature sneakers' latest colorway on Instagram through an ad. The ad features the eight-time NBA All-Star lacing up his signature sneakers, but it wasn't to shoot hoops. Instead, he proceeded to mow some grass.

In the same post, it was announced that the latest colorway for the Dame 9 will become available on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Aside from the red, black and gold colorway featured in the ad that Damian Lillard posted, there are two more colorways for the BAPE x DAME 9.

One features a colorway dominated by earthy tones and resembles a camo-like design. This colorway also features the BAPE logo imprinted on the shoe. The third colorway features an Olympics-inspired look with a blue, red and white color palette.

According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, the BAPE x DAME 9 will retail at $160 and will be available on Adidas' official website as well as on the shelves of certain retailers and a few online shops.

Damian Lillard and BAPE had already collaborated before the Dame 9

The Dame 9's BAPE-inspired colorways are not the first time that Damian Lillard's signature sneakers featured BAPE colorways.

The Dame 4, which was initially released in 2017 and had colorways added to it gradually through 2018, was the first shoe in Dame's collection to feature a collaboration between the two brands.

It was released during the 2018 All-Star weekend in LA. Dame was a part of the All-Star game that year and was drafted by Steph Curry to be on his team.

The Dame 4, just like the Dame 9, had three BAPE colorways. All three featured a camouflage-inspired design with the only distinction among them being their color. There was a green, a black and a red variant to the BAPE x DAME 4. These were released with a price tag of $150.

Compared to the BAPE x DAME 9, which opted for a more low-key aesthetic, the initial collaboration between Damian Lillard and BAPE had more vibrant colors and designs. However, that's not to say that the Dame 9s are dull; the colors and design simply appear to be more subtle this time.
