Memphis Grizzlies guard Danny Green believes it’s time for the team to back up their talk with action. On his podcast “Inside The Green Room,” Green discussed how the Grizzlies have played lately and what has been said in the media about the team. He mentioned FS1 analyst Shannon Sharpe and Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson speaking on the team.

“Shannon Sharpe had something to say, Klay had some receipts” - Danny Green

There have been words between Memphis and Golden State players in the media. The two teams had a high-profile game on Christmas Day in which the Warriors won 123-109. The Grizzlies are an emerging team in the Western Conference, while Golden State is an established dynasty in this era of the NBA. Klay Thompson had words for the Memphis Grizzlies after their win on Sunday.

"You can't talk dynasty when you haven't won before ... I thought that was premature talk." - Klay Thompson

The two teams faced off in last year’s Western Conference Semifinals, where the Warriors won the series by four games to two. The Grizzlies were without Ja Morant after a game-three collision with the Warriors' Jordan Poole. The Grizzlies feel like it’s their time to ascend to the next level. In their last contest, Memphis was favored due to Warriors star Steph Curry being out on injury, and the team was also without Andrew Wiggins.

Danny Green says that the Memphis Grizzlies will continue to speak and be confident despite the last game's result. The team is currently 20-13 and in third place in the Western Conference standings.

Ja Morant is playing at a high level, averaging 27.1 points, 7.8 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game. They will need him, along with Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr., to all play at a high level to get out of the Western Conference.

Will Danny Green play for Memphis Grizzlies this season?

The Memphis Grizzlies acquired guard Danny Green in a trade this past summer from the Philadelphia 76ers. Green has not played since May 12, when he tore his ACL in a playoff game for the Sixers. He has not played for Memphis this season as he is still recovering from the injury.

Green stated that he hopes to return to the lineup before the All-Star break. Green is a veteran who has won three NBA Championships in his career. He is known as a three-point specialist and a good defender. That could prove valuable in a playoff run where the team hopes to go deep.
