After the Sacramento Kings fired coach Mike Brown, trade rumors surrounding De'Aaron Fox became more frequent. Fox's future with the team is uncertain as his name has been linked to several teams looking to bolster their backcourts.

According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Fox has not asked for a trade and isn't interested in leaving Sacramento. However, rival teams have started to prepare for the possibility of the All-Star guard becoming available. Amick reported that the LA Lakers, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs are teams that could make a run for the point guard.

Fox is still under contract with Sacramento and is set to earn $34,848,340 this season. The only way for him to leave the Kings is if he gets traded. Initially, there was some talk that the former Kentucky Wildcats guard could be dealt in the upcoming Feb. 6 trade deadline.

However, a midseason trade might not be possible as there is a "strong belief that Fox is more likely to be available this summer rather than before the Feb. 6 trade deadline."

The insider said the Kings are shutting down any inquiries for Fox. Amick reported that the organization plans to improve the roster around the point guard this season. He also wrote that the Spurs are the team that is making the most noise in pursuing the former No. 5 pick.

Other teams interested in the lefty guard are the Orlando Magic and the Houston Rockets. Fox has played for the Kings for eight seasons since getting drafted, averaging 21.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists. This season, he's averaging 26.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 6.2 apg in 34 games.

With the Kings, he's become a one-time All-Star, a one-time All-NBA Third Team star and a one-time winner of the Clutch Player of the Year award.

Once De'Aaron Fox gets available, it's not an "automatic" move for the Rockets

The Rockets are one of the teams interested in acquiring De'Aaron Fox once he becomes available. However, NBA insider Marc Stein reported that Houston won't go after him immediately after he becomes available.

"It is by no means an automatic that the Rockets would pursue Fox should he be made available after the season," Stein reported.

Houston has a young core of Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr. With the young core of the Rockets, Fox will boost the team's need for a star.

The Texas team has performed well this season with a 22-11 record. It looks forward to returning to the postseason after missing the past four years.
