Dennis Schroder's trade to the Warriors came as a surprise to him, but his five-year-old son loved the move, and his wife, Ellen, couldn't help but find it adorable. Schroder revealed during his first press conference on Sunday that Dennis Jr. was glad he was on a winning team after spending a year with two lottery teams, the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets.
"The funniest thing though was, when we got traded, I was kind of shocked. My wife told him we got traded," Schroder said of his five-year son's reaction to the deal. "He asked, 'Where are we going?' We said Golden State. He was like, 'We lucky'. It's a good team at least."
After the hilarious reveal from her husband, Ellen dropped a three-word reaction for their son, Dennis Jr., in her latest Instagram story ahead of Schroder's Warriors debut on Thursday.
"Junior the cutest," she wrote.

Dennis Schroder embraces fresh beginnings as Warriors chapter begins tonight
It's been a while since Dennis Schroder played for a playoff-hopeful team. He last represented the LA Lakers in that context in 2022-23 and helped them make the Western Conference finals. After playing on two separate rebuilding projects in Toronto and Brooklyn, Schroder returns to the West Coast in the hunt for his first NBA championship.
He seemingly felt he couldn't have been in a more suitable spot than the Warriors.
"I loved San Francisco from the start," Schroder said. Was always great being here. Playing here. Seeing the fanbase … Just really happy to be a part of this organization."
Schroder's trade to the Warriors seems apt, considering he gives them another dynamic scorer and playmaker, taking pressure off Steph Curry's shoulders. The German also gives them a legitimate two-way threat in the backcourt next to their two-time MVP superstar.
Dennis Schroder instantly becomes the Warriors second-best scorer this season behind Curry, averaging 18.4 points and 6.6 assists in 23 games for the Brooklyn Nets. He's shooting an impressive 38.7% from 3, which is a career-high.
