German basketball star Dennis Schroder's wife, Ellen Schroder, is filled with pride after her husband was chosen as the nation's first-ever Black athlete to be the Olympic flag bearer. This historic selection places Dennis at the forefront of the German National team as they head into the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Brooklyn Nets guard will be leading the German delegation into the Paris Olympics, a historic moment for both the athlete and the country. Sharing his appreciation and gratitude for being selected as the flag bearer in his recent Instagram post, Dennis Schroder said:

Dennis Schroder to share Flag-Bearing duties with two NBA stars at Paris Olympics

The upcoming Paris Olympics are shaping up to be a star-studded affair, and basketball fans are in for a treat. Germany's Dennis Schroder will be playing alongside teammates Daniel Theis, Franz Wagner and Moritz Wagner.

Out of the four NBA players on Germany's team, Schroder gets the special honor of carrying his country's flag during the opening ceremony. He's one of three NBA stars chosen to be their nation's flag bearer, joining LeBron James for Team USA and Giannis Antetokoumpo for Greece.

Germany opted for a shared flag-bearing tradition this year. Schroder will be joined by judoka Anna-Maria Wagner, a two-time world champion.

Dennis Schroder is the captain of the German basketball team. He led them to victory at the FIBA World Cup in 2023 and was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
