Dennis Schroder to share Flag-Bearing duties with two NBA stars at Paris Olympics
The upcoming Paris Olympics are shaping up to be a star-studded affair, and basketball fans are in for a treat. Germany's Dennis Schroder will be playing alongside teammates Daniel Theis, Franz Wagner and Moritz Wagner.
Out of the four NBA players on Germany's team, Schroder gets the special honor of carrying his country's flag during the opening ceremony. He's one of three NBA stars chosen to be their nation's flag bearer, joining LeBron James for Team USA and Giannis Antetokoumpo for Greece.
Germany opted for a shared flag-bearing tradition this year. Schroder will be joined by judoka Anna-Maria Wagner, a two-time world champion.
