The Denver Nuggets have spoken to $35,859,950 forward Michael Porter Jr. about his trade prospects. Porter Jr. revealed his interaction after Monday's 117-90 win against the Phoenix Suns. Several rumors suggest the Nuggets could use his contract as a bargaining chip in potential trade talks for candidates like Zach LaVine and Brandon Ingram.
However, the Nuggets' front office reached out to him amid the trade buzz and made their stance clear.
"They've reached out to me and said, 'Hey, it's all noise, there's nothing serious going on,'" Porter Jr. said. "even if there was, they would let me know and they said they love how I'm playing and to keep being aggressive, keep playing and they've no desire to move me right now."
Porter Jr. ensured he made it known that he was aware of how the NBA business works. He didn't shy away from mentioning he wouldn't be kept in the loop if the team wanted to move him after clearing their position on the situation.

"I also know they wouldn't tell me if they wanted to move me."
Michael Porter Jr. laughed off while saying that and cracked up the press room. However, trades can be unpredictable. It's not the first time a team has said one thing publicly and turned around to do the opposite. Porter Jr. won't likely be an exception, as he's arguably their best asset to improve the team.
Michael Porter Jr. answers trade noise with impeccable shooting night for Denver Nuggets
Michael Porter Jr. was a big part of the Denver Nuggets' win over the Phoenix Suns. The former first-round pick had one of his best shooting games of the year after he connected on 10 of 12 shots, including 2 of 4 from 3. He added six rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes of action, ending the night with a team-high +/- +22.
It might become difficult for the Nuggets to move on from Porter Jr. if he continues performing at this rate. They banked on his rise as a potential All-Star caliber player to retain their core four with Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murry and Aaron Gordon, but a slow start this year could have swayed their choices on extending Porter Jr.'s stay. The Nuggets have also improved to 16-11.
The Denver Nuggets are fifth in the West after an up-and-down stretch over the first 20 games. Moving Porter Jr. could be an unlikely proposition if the results remain consistent.
