The LA Lakers might have a winning record, but their fanbase is unhappy with Jeanie Buss and her front office for the lack of moves ahead of the trade deadline. Buss drew more ire from fans online for promoting her 2010 book "Lakers Girl" on social media.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Buss shared the cover of her book, which she collaborated on with award-winning sports journalist Steve Springer. Former Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who had a relationship with Buss for 17 years, wrote the foreword.

The book was released in 2010, giving fans insight into Jeanie’s rise as part of the Buss family. She became the franchise’s controlling owner after Dr. Jerry Buss died in 2013. Since then, the Lakers have won only one NBA championship, in 2020, with LeBron James leading the way.

The reason for Jeanie Buss sharing the book cover remains unclear, but it closely resembled the teaser poster for the Netflix series "Running Point," which is based on Buss' life. Regardless, her post was flooded with comments from Lakers fans criticizing how she is running the team.

"Destroying the franchise. Sell the team. Take this self-absorbed photo of yourself down. Help the Lakers win again," a fan tweeted.
"The rest of the league has caught up, and the Lakers need new ownership. Dump LeGM too. He's ruined the team," one fan claimed.
"Posting IG pics instead of trading for Sexton and Kessler," another fan remarked.

The LA Lakers made a trade in late December when they shipped D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets. They acquired Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton, but neither has been a difference-maker for the Lakers.

"U do absolutely nothing useful for this franchise," a fan wrote.
"Posing For Posters instead Of Getting LeBron a Functional Bench," one fan responded.
"I don’t need a book to know the future of the Lakers under Jeanie and Rob," another fan commented.

The Lakers are currently 22-18, sitting sixth in the Western Conference standings. They are three games behind the No. 4 spot and are ahead of only two games the 10th-seeded Phoenix Suns.

According to Deadline, Jeanie Buss and LA Lakers Special Projects Manager Linda Rambis are two of the producers of the Netflix series "Running Point." The series stars Kate Hudson as Isla, a character loosely based on Buss and her rise to power as the controlling owner of the Lakers.

Other stars of the comedy include Brenda Song, Max Greenfield, Justin Theroux, Jay Ellis, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Scott MacArthur, Toby Sandeman and Drew Tarver.
