Devin Booker's Nike Book 1 "Forrest Gump" officially dropped on Friday. The Phoenix Suns star paid tribute to famed actor Tom Hanks, who played the titular role in the 1994 movie "Forrest Gump." Booker signed the pair and gave a shoutout to Hanks on his Instagram stories.
The right shoe features Booker's autograph and a dedication to the actor. Meanwhile, the left shoe features the iconic line from the movie, "Life is like a box of chocolates."
That's not all. The Suns star re-created one of the film's scenes. In the shoe commercial, Booker dressed up like the main character, Forrest. He paid tribute by enacting the scene where the lead character stopped running in the middle of the road at Monument Valley, Arizona, and decided to go home.

Fans reacted to Devin Booker's first Forrest Gump commercial
The running scene at Monument Valley wasn't the only scene from the movie that Devin Booker recreated. The first commercial for his shoes' new colorway was a deepfake edit of his face on top of Tom Hanks. It's the scene where Forrest sits on a bench, talking to a lady.
Fans couldn't hold their thoughts on Booker's ad for his shoes, so they talked about it on X (formerly Twitter).
"Dbook has that "best actor" potential , perhaps after his basketball career," a fan suggested a new career for the Suns star
"That was pretty ****ing dope dude 🤣 I just heard about this on Burns & Gambo radio. Legit Book! Lol," another fan was excited to see the ad.
"This Devin Booker Nike Book 1 Ad is FIRE🔥🔥🔥" one fan commented.
Conversely, a portion of fans didn't like the commercial.
"Booker somehow managed to make this cringe 😬," one fan said.
"No way Nike paid someone to produce this cringe AI crap," another fan commented.
"Fire everyone who had something to do with this. Oh my god what is this," a fan said.
Even with the mixed reactions, Devin Booker pushed with the ad and showed off his acting chops.
