Some fans are wondering if the Milwaukee Bucks have waived veteran point guard Patrick Beverley. This comes after the veteran point guard announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he was choosing between remaining in the NBA or taking his talents to Europe.
The short answer is no, the Bucks did not release Beverley from the team. Beverley's last contract in the NBA was one he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2023-24 season. This contract was a one-year deal worth $3,196,448 according to Sportrac.

Prior to the 2023-24 season's trade deadline, the 76ers traded Beverley to the Bucks for Cameron Payne as well as a 2027 second-round pick. This summer, that one-year contract ends, which means Beverley is free to sign with any other team in the NBA or overseas.

This means that the Bucks did not waive Beverley as his contract has simply expired.
Patrick Beverley appeared in 26 games for the Bucks. He played heavy minutes as a role player coming off the bench in these 26 games, averaging 20.9 minutes per contest. He averaged 6.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists after he was acquired by the Bucks.
Beverley also suited up in all six of the Bucks' playoff games against the Indiana Pacers last postseason. He was heavily relied upon after the team suffered key injuries, which led to his minutes going up to an average of 35.0 per game.
He answered by also upping his production to 8.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.
In the final game of the Bucks-Pacers series, Patrick Beverley was spotted throwing a basketball at a fan which led to him receiving a four-game suspension. He will serve this in 2024-25 if he remains in the NBA.
Patrick Beverley has received some interest from Israeli professional team
Other reports involving Patrick Beverley state that the Israeli professional team Hapoel Tel Aviv is showing some interest in the point guard.
While Hapoel Tel Aviv is based in Israel, the team also plays in the EuroCup basketball. If he chooses to sign with this team or a different European squad, it won't be the first time that he plays overseas.
Beverley started his professional career abroad, playing in Ukraine before he was even drafted into the NBA. In 2009, he was drafted by the LA Lakers and was traded to the Miami Heat on the same day. However, he was cut from the roster before the season began.
He then played in Greece and then in Russia from 2009-12 before finally debuting in the NBA as a member of the Houston Rockets.
