The beef between Shaquille O'Neal and Dwight Howard and the GOAT debate between Michael Jordan and LeBron James might never conclude. Howard seems to be fed up with Shaq and even wonders if they have to throw hands at each other to end the beef.
In conversation with Ray Daniels on "The GAUDs Show," Howard addressed his beef with the Hall of Famer for the second time in the last five days. He said that contrary to Shaq's thoughts about him, he never wanted to be like him but never disrespected him. However, Howard said that Shaq always found something negative to say about him.
"I hated the most is the fact that he always thought I was trying to be him or be like him," Howard said. "But again, if I wanted to be you or be like him, shouldn't you take that as a compliment and to show how great you are as a player and a person?"
"All right, Shaq, I just never disrespected. ...But he's always had something to say and you know there are times where I got enough and I'm like, yo Shaq just gotta stop," Howard said.

Recalling his time while filming Dancing with the Stars, Howard said that she tried to send a message to Shaq through someone on set who was close to the four-time NBA champion.
"I said 'hey man do you mind sending Shaq a message? You know, trying to figure out like you what's up? Can we have a sit down conversation? Because every conversation or every time I hear or see something about you is you disrespecting me on some type of level,'" Howard recalled.
"And at this point, I'm like do we need to throw hands?" Howard asked.
Howard and O'Neal were both drafted by the Orlando Magic and picked No.1 overall in their respective drafts. They both played as centers, and both played a part of their prime with the Magic.
Shaq and Howard also both led the Magic to the NBA finals and lost. Moreover, they both have been nicknamed Superman, something that Shaq has proudly owned. The above credentials should be enough to trace the beef between the two.
Dwight Howards lists things that he took from Shaquille O'Neal on the basketball court
While Dwight Howard would instantly deny that he would take anything from Shaquille O'Neal off the basketball court, he did take things from the NBA legend in matters concerning basketball. Given the fact that Shaq is arguably the most dominant center in NBA history, he left a blueprint for future players.
Howard appeared on Thanasis Antetokounmpo's "Thanalysis Show" on Friday. Howard spoke in length about the beef between him and Shaq. The 2020 NBA champion said that he took several facets of Shaq's game.
"As far as basketball, there are things I took away from Shaq," Howard said. "You know the dominace, dunking on people, like trying to break every basketball goal when I dunked. I did take those things."
However, Howard later proceeded to point out things about Shaq that he never wanted to do himself, especially concerning shading players like Rudy Gobert. Howard added that he could, at best, suggest what Gobert should do in the game, but unlike Shaq, he wouldn't throw jabs at Gobert every time he got the chance.
