Doc Rivers and the Milwaukee Bucks raced to their sixth win in their last seven matches after they defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 125-119, at home on Saturday. The winning record came after a fake claim from a parody X account that the coach would start coaching seriously after a rough start to the season.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Nov. 12 following Milwaukee's victory over the Toronto Raptors, NBA Centel wrote that Rivers informed the Bucks that he would start coaching seriously.

Of course, it should be noted that NBA Centel is a parody account known for posting fake news stories and videos for entertainment. It is not connected to NBA Central and the NBA.

Fans took notice of the Bucks' turnaround following the fake claim, taking to X to share their thoughts on it. One fan spotlighted how the fake claim on Doc Rivers was not a lie after all, writing:

"This wasn't a lie, doc really really locked in."
"Too good to be true," another fan wrote.
"What the heck was he doing before?," a fan asked.
"He's done chasin water falls?," another user wondered.

Some comments, meanwhile, still were unconvinced that Rivers is the man for the Bucks despite the turnaround.

"Doc Rivers has been recycled way too many times. This always ends badly and happens before the end of the season," one fan asserted.
"Worse coach out, and it's not even close. I wonder what Adrian Griffin is thinking right now... smh," a user said.
"Horrible coach. He doesn't inspire anybody. Not a leader," said a fan, not holding back.

Prior to the 6-1 run of the Bucks, they opened their campaign with a 2-8 record.

Giannis Antetokounmpo supports Doc Rivers amid tough start

Giannis Antetokounmpo is behind coach Doc Rivers as they try to turn things around after a slow start. He said that while they are still a work in progress, he appreciates what their coach is doing to improve their play.

He shared this following their loss to the New York Knicks on Nov. 8, highlighting how the early struggles they are having are not solely the fault of Doc Rivers but also the entire team.

The two-time NBA MVP said (via RG):

"Doc is doing his best. He's trying to figure out the rotation... I give him props on that. At the end of the day, the guys that play, we got to go out there and compete. He cannot compete from the sidelines for us."
