Hoops fans heaped praise on Bronny James after the Los Angeles Lakers rookie put on a solid performance in their 93-89 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. The basketball community commended LeBron James' son after he backed up his excellent Summer League outing against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday with his best game in a Lakers jersey on Thursday.
The former USC guard scored a season-high 13 points against the Cavaliers after dropping 12 points versus the Hawks a day earlier.
The No. 55 overall draft pick was efficient shooting the basketball as he went 5-of-10 from the field, including 1-of-3 from 3-point range. The rookie also grabbed five rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 25:03 minutes on the floor.
Bronny made all of his two free throws and registered a +/- of +1. The most commendable part of Bronny's performance was his desire to take and make shots in clutch.

Bronny was excellent in the fourth quarter, scoring five points and two rebounds along with hitting a big step-back three with 3:05 remaining in the game with the Lakers trailing 89-84.
Fans had plenty to say about Bronny's performance against the Cavs. Here are some of the reactions on X/Twitter:
"He’s doing everything he’s supposed to. Infact, he’s doing WAY better than a 55th pick is expected to," one fan said.
Another fan slammed Bronny James' critics after he failed to perform in his first two Summer League games:
"The takes people had for a 55th pick after 2 summer league games were INSANE. happy he hoopin.
A couple fans shed light on the fact that Bronny has played better than the No. 2 overall draft pick Alex Sarr in the Summer League so far:
"Bronny isn’t crazy good, but he IS outplaying the 2nd overall pick at the bare minimum. That, at the very least, deserves an apology and if he continues to develop will prove he belongs. He’s also 19 years old so let’s keep it real about expectations for a second," wrote one fan.
"Don’t let this distract you from the fact that this is how the no. 2 overall pick Alex Sarr's performed in his last two Summer League games: 0 PTS, 0-15 FG, 9 REB, 2 PTS, 1-6 FG, 11 REB," another X user commented.
"Bronny haters in shambles right now," a fan commented.
"Proving the haters wrong," wrote another fan.
Bronny James' improvement in 3-point shooting
Bronny James struggled immensely from 3-point range to begin the Summer League campaign. In his own words, the LA Lakers rookie was in a "slump" as he shot a couple of embarrassing air balls. He shot 0-of-8 in his first Summer League outing and went 0-of-5 from beyond the arc in the next game.
Bronny finally came out of his shooting slump in the Lakers' game against the Hawks. He shot 2-of-5 from deep and backed it up with 1-of-3 shooting from downtown against the Cavaliers.
