One-time NBA champion Nick Young surprisingly defended Drake by taking a shot at LeBron James for siding with Kendrick Lamar during their beef. Young's comments shocked former Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas, considering Lamar is cousins with his co-host.

On the latest episode of the "Gil's Arena" podcast on Monday, the hosts discussed various topics, including Drake's recent freestyle, "Fighting Irish." Many people thought that the Canadian rapper referenced "The King" several times, possibly as a way to air his grievance after the LA Lakers superstar favored Kendrick over him.

While many called out Drake for being emotional about the situation, Young, who is cousins with Kendrick, defended his actions. He even called out James for what he did to the "First Person Shooter" artist (Timestamp: 57:16):

"I'm going at LeBron," Young said. "If I'm Drake, I'm dropping everything. ... 'What he said? Remember that little barber shop sh*t? 'What I tell you to do, Drake?' Drake listened to the n***a and sh*t. ... Don't get rid of him 'cause he a** now."

Gilbert Arenas was surprised that Nick Young had the audacity to call out LeBron James for doing him a "favor." Arenas pointed out that James got rid of D'Angelo Russell, who was traded to the Brooklyn Nets last week.

For background, Russell leaked a video of Young admitting to cheating on rapper Iggy Azalea on social media. It led to the couple breaking up and causing a rift within the LA Lakers locker room. Russell was also criticized as an untrustworthy player within the team, while Young was called out by many for cheating on his partner.

Co-host Josiah Johnson was also baffled since Young and Kendrick Lamar are related. He unsurprisingly sided with his cousin during his beef with Drake.

According to Complex, Drake made a lot of references to LeBron James in his freestyle "Fighting Irish." The title might be alluding to James, who went to St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, whose mascot is the Fighting Irish.

Drake mentions trading watches with an Arabic dial with someone, most likely LeBron, who has been seen wearing something similar over the years. He also called out someone for using love in the first place, which he found out was false. Some fans even explained that Drizzy talked about treating the LA Lakers superstar as family at one point, but it's now gone after what's happened.

It's not the first time Drake called out an NBA star for siding with Kendrick Lamar. He famously threatened to take down DeMar DeRozan's jersey if the Toronto Raptors decided to retire it in the future.

As for James, he has not responded to Drake's latest freestyle and likely won't address it publicly.
